David Hockney’s Chairs

You’ve only momentarily left the scene
The wicker gnarled non-portrait tribute
A red conspiracy between two yellow absences
Fitted antidote worn floral and low-slung
Marshmallow fascination preoccupied with rest
Beauty in opportunity is all legs boldly
Improvised like any introduction over
Famous water a hallmark blur enters
Pattern and flatten homey crop property
Distinguished present profound fuse charm
More real than discard colony masters empty
Suit pulp and pressed evocation on loan
To sunflowers ivory resold scale roll no reality
At fixed point a recently free object
