What I Pray For

A dumpster filled with dirt and
rosemary dropped from the sky,

a portable Earth Room.

Born from a sentence meant
for another world, what makes
less sense is always more subtle.

Sleep hygiene disrupted by a car wreck you
didn’t see. The grocery store lost power,

and the freezers froze even deeper.
Where in space are we or could we be?

I watered the garden
until a few dozen birds flew out.
